Final product: Vulnerability Assessments for Central Valley Priority Habitats, Species Groups, and Species Central Valley biodiversity experts identified stressors and vulnerabilities which are currently being completed by EcoAdapt. These vulnerability assessments will be useful in conservation planning, and form the basis for the next step of the project: development of adaptation strategies and actions.

Workshop Goals:

Assess the vulnerability to climate change of a suite of stakeholder-identified priority natural resources, with the intention of subsequently developing adaptation strategies for these resources and addressing key management questions of our partners.
Provide vulnerability assessment training, resources, support, and tools to participants to extend this process to similar efforts in their own work.

Workshop Objectives:

Provide participants with overview of historical, current, and projected future climate trends for the Central Valley.
Assess vulnerabilities of identified priority natural resources to climate change including evaluating sensitivity, exposure, and adaptive capacity, while considering the four future scenarios developed during workshop #2.
Present example case studies of moving from vulnerability assessments to developing adaptation strategies, and provide participants with an overview of future project activities.
